About Me...
Hi. I'm Jenifer Freedy, and I'm glad you're visiting my site. In the next few pages, I'll offer more information about how we might work together. However, I'll start by sharing some beginning information about me here.
I'm a graduate of the M.Ed. Counselling Psychology Program at Western University (UWO). I'm registered with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, and I'm a Certified Counsellor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I've worked as a part-time instructor at King’s University College specializing in trauma and loss, and I was a member of the Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder Research Team at University Hospital in London. I have also published material regarding traumatic loss, and have developed original university curricula.
For 25 years, I've provided psychotherapy, counselling, and crisis intervention to a diverse population of people experiencing a wide variety of issues and concerns. As well, because growth and change often require a combination of interventions, I've trained extensively in a number of well-established approaches that are very effective in my work with people. Combined with the most up-to-date information on the brain, mind, and nervous system, these methods of treatment have proven very effective, and have become powerful additions to my practice.
I now work exclusively in private practice with adults, teens, pre-teens, and parents.
I work with the following issues:
Anxiety and Chronic Worry
Panic and Hyperarousal
Depression and Low Mood
Trauma / Post-Traumatic Stress
Complex Trauma (C-PTSD)
Childhood Abuse and Neglect
Attachment Issues
